Station Incharge workshop for the In charges of Police stations in Upper South Province was conducted in Fiyoaree ,organized by the Regional police station in collaboration with HAD. HAD’s International consultant Ms. Leah R. Malone M.S. covered two sessions in the work shop , human rights awareness session and environmental awareness session. She highlighted the importance of these two areas for the police. The sessions were held at Fiyoaree School on 24th November 2009.
HAD had also conducted an environmental awareness seminar in collaboration with Fiyoaree Ekuveri Zuvaanunge Club (FEZ). In this seminar the Facilitator, Ms. Leah R. Malone M.S. emphasized the significance of protecting environment in the Maldives and effects of climate change and it’s consequence to the life in the world especially the effects to low lying nations like the Maldives. 25 Youth participated in this seminar and they had group presentations on main Environmental issues in the island of Fiyoaree and the ways to overcome those issues. Most of the participants said that these issues arise mainly due to lack of awareness on Environment
