Huvadhoo Aid had conducted awareness session to NGO Leaders and staff of government institutions in Nadella. This is part of the “Strengthening public response to combat drugs in South Huvadhoo Atoll” project (Project K30) implemented
by Huvadhoo Aid under the funding from UNODC. The awareness session focused on risk of smoking and the relation between smoking and drug abuse . In addition to this HIV and the risk of HIV to drug users was part of the awareness session. The awareness session was facilitated by Huvadhoo Aid’s Assistant Executive Director Mr. Mohamed Mauroof and other trained volunteers in this field.
Apart from the awareness sessions door to door campaign was conducted in Nadella and posters were pasted in various parts of the island. Participants of awareness session also took part in this campaign. Posters were pasted in Hoadedhdhoo as well.
